Certified Master Dog Groomer
The National Dog Groomers Association of America was established in 1969 for the “promotion of excellence in professional standards” among dog groomers.
As pet groomers do not have to licensed, the only way one can be sure hisher groomer is skilled is to look for a national Certified Master Groomer (NCMG).
A NCMG must pass rigorous tests, both practical and written with a B average or higher, for the following dog breed groups before earning this designation:
- Sporting
- Non-Sporting
- Terriers (Long-legged & short-legged)
- Master Exam
Additionally, the NDGAA has established a Code of Ethics to which all member groomers must adhere.
